Now, I’m delighted to tell you a little about my Love Inspired romance Their Christmas Prayer.
This novel is the fourth book in my series set in the fictional small town of Juniper Bluff, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.
Searching for a new start, Pastor Shaun O’Grady can’t wait for his next foreign missionary assignment…until he begins working with Brooke Willoughby on the church’s Christmas outreach program. Even as they clash over program specifics, Shaun and Brooke are drawn to each other. Now Shaun’s not sure where he belongs: overseas for his ministry, or at home by Brooke’s side…
What I love about writing a connected series is the familiarity of the setting, but even more, discovering how the various characters are connected. Secondary characters in one book become the heroes and heroines of their own story as I dig deeper into their dreams and what’s holding them back. This was certainly true for Shaun and Brooke, each striving to find their way after personal hurts and disappointments.
As a native Texan, I’ve enjoyed writing about the Hill Country, a ruggedly beautiful region in Central Texas. Both my brothers settled in the area way back in the 1950s, so I’ve visited often throughout my life. Then almost three years ago, my husband and I moved to a city on the edge of the Hill Country. I can look out my office window for views of the stately live oaks so prevalent in this part of Texas.
